Gold Disk Award from Sony Music
The Drifters new album Up On The Roof, released on Sony Music in 2011 has now gone Gold. The album, which included some of the group’s biggest hits from the last five decades plus two new tracks recorded by the current line up. The album reached number #12 in the UK album charts and remained in the charts for several months. New material on the album includes the popular tracks ‘Do You Dream Of Me’ and ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m looking For.’ The album is available to buy in stores and online.
New Shows for 2012
PMG has launched two brand new productions for 2012.
Unforgettable – The hits of the 50’s and 60’s is a classy, concert style musical production that highlights the musical icons of this era – favourite musical legends such as Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Frankie Valley, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, The Beach Boys, The Carpenters, The Beatles and many more . The international cast includes superb lead vocalists Diana Nash and Neil Couperthwaite from the UK, Patrick Maubert from Canada and Kellie Schreiber from the United States.
Heart To Heart: An Evening Of Love Songs is hosted by and features Michael Williams and guests and includes some of Michael’s own material from his recent album ‘Find Your Wings’ featuring Kellie Schreiber and his new album as well as classic love songs from the last few decades.
Alex Joins The Team
PMG would like to welcome Alex Hinton to the PMG Team. Alex has joined the company in the capacity of tour manager for the brand new production ‘Unforgettable – The hits of the 50’s and 60’s’ and will also be working with the company in the office on project based CAD design. Alex also brings with him his superb talents in photography. Check out Alex’s photography work at www.alexhinton.co.uk. Alex will be working out of the company’s head office in Shropshire from next month.
Dan Healey Joins the PMG Team
PMG is delighted to welcome Dan Healey to the PMG management team. Dan, a graduate in Music Performance from Wolverhampton University is also a lecturer in Music Performance and Popular Music, bringing with him vast experience to the company. Dan will be working in the area of 'Artist Development' reporting to Kathy Mashadi. Dan will work out of the company’s Head Office in Shropshire.
The Drifters release on Sony
Prism Music Group is pleased to announce the release of The Drifters – Up On The Roof – The Very Best Of on March 21st on the Sony Music label. The album, which includes two new tracks by the current line up, means that The Drifters have now reunited with both of the group’s former labels. In fact, With the exception of the much loved icon Johnny Moore, the current line up is the only line up in the group’s history to have recorded on both of the group’s historic labels – Atlantic Records (with the release in 2009 of Five Decades & Moore) and now, in 2011 on Sony Music. The TV advertised album, which is being released ahead of Mothers Day in the UK is predicted to achieve a high chart position later this month.
